There’s something wrong about those TikTok’s that say “if you’re in the 200 view jail then this is what you’re doing wrong” because what good does that do if you’re doing everything they’re telling you to do right?

Instead of banging your head against the wall, I’m going to share a secret formula that I use with all of my content that performs between 1000 to 5000 views.

In turn, you see an increase of engagement and a slight uplift in following.

Why is that?

Because you’re slowly curating your community by giving them small insights into what you stand for and why you’re doing what you’re doing for your community.

Whether you’re a dentist, fashion designer, mechanic or gardener – I do believe anyone can be successful if they apply the right formula.

What is a TikTok formula?

My TikTok formula is a step by step guide on how to pull together and divide your talking points into your content, but just so you know it has nothing to do with your filming style.

It has to do with how you deliver it. That’s the formula.

Part of this is defining your tone of voice and personality which should be as authentic as possible. This will help how you speak to your target audience and how they enjoy consuming valuable content. This won’t be a comfortable process so if you’re not comfortable with being uncomfortable in order to grow on social media, then I’m sorry but you need to pull your head in and start getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Once you define your tone of voice and personality, you need to start filming your day or address to the camera what you’re doing and what’s happening around you, at your discretion – be as aloof and alluring as you can be.

Next you can edit all the clips together, and keep each clip from 0.8 seconds to 1.2 seconds long.

If you’re recording a voiceover this next part is for you.

Part of writing a script is to keep you in line with your content, while still keeping it short and punchy for the consumer.

In your script you need to identify a common problem that everyone faces, that is so simple that no one talks about it. This will be YOUR HOOK.

Part of writing a hook is to:

  1. give people a reason to keep watching
  2. add value by following through on your hook

If you’re a fashion brand or creator and have found a dress that’s on sale, high quality and has pockets then a good example is this hook: “Does anyone get abit excited when they a dress and realise later that it had pockets?”

This hook was used in one of my personal tiktok posts that lead into the idea of finding more value in your clothes after you’ve purchased them which gave me 7.5K views! you can see here

Then you need to follow through with the rest of the video by showing your community what dress has the pockets, where it’s from and the quality of the product.

The voiceover needs to match the energy of the content you’re providing – remember this.

In summary:

  1. Define your tone of voice and online brand personality
  2. Film small clips of your project (day in my life, secret project process, come with me etc.)
  3. Edit your clips to be between 0.8 to 1.2 seconds long
  4. Write your script with a relatable hook
  5. Follow through in the rest of the script with your hook
  6. Watch your results grow
